Workplace Air & Noise Testing
Workplace Air Testing
Airborne contaminants in the workplace generally comprise of dusts, chemicals, microorganisms or noise. Airlabs utilises a variety of recognized testing procedures, including Australian Standards, NIOSH & OSHA methods, to determine compliance. Our core occupational tests are as follows:
- Airborne dust - inhalable and respirable
- Asbestos
- Welding Fumes/ Metals
- Noise
- Microorganisms (Total CFUs, Bacteria, Yeasts & Moulds)
- Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
- Crystalline Silica
- Acid Gases
- Formaldehyde
- Isocyanates
- Herbicides & Pesticides
- Toxic Gases (e.g. CO, H2S, NH3 & O3)
All airborne contaminant sampling and analysis are undertaken in accordance with relevant Australian Standards (AS) and Safe Work Australia guidelines.
Workplace Noise Testing
Along with determining exposure to airborne contaminants, Airlabs are experienced in undertaking workplace noise testing. Noise Assessments in workplace environments are undertaken in accordance with Australian Standard (AS) 1269 - Occupational Noise Management.
The noise exposure level is measured in near proximity of the personnel’s ear by using a Type 1 Sound Level Meter (SLM). Alternatively, noise dosimeters which can be attached to the workers are used to assess the noise exposure throughout the working day and then assessed for workplace compliance.
